Are CFL Light Bulbs bad for your eyes?
I've heard that floresecent lights are bad for a person's eyes. Anyone know if there is any truth to this? I already wear glasses and I'm thinking about changing to CFL's in my house.
No, they are just as safe for your eyes as any other light bulb. However, CFL's are a health risk when the glass tubes break. They contain mercury vapor and it is not a good idea to breath the vapors or dust released into the air. Other than that, CFL's are safe and efficient. I have converted my entire home to CFL's and enjoy a lower utility bill.
