Searching For Info About Alternative Energy Source ?
Which alternative energy source is ready and plentiful enough to replace oil today?
Replace? Nothing. We don't have the infrastructure to replace oil, and building it would take years no matter which option you went with. Nuclear Power Plants? Where? People don't understand that with all the regulations in place even if we wanted to it would probably be a decade before a new nuke plant actually started producing power. Wind? How does that power your car? Solar Energy? How much oil will be consumed in producing the solar cells, and how much acreage will it require to replace oil? Cellulosic ethanol? The technology simply isn't there yet.
At the end of the day we still need oil, and lots of it. Replacing oil for transportation and heating is possible, but will take time. We have neither the infrastructure nor the technological expertise right now. But we're working on it.
